    THE DAY DURING WORLD WAR TWO AN AMERICAN PLANE CRASH LANDED ON DONEGAL BEACH &#; CAN YOU HELP INVESTIGATOR?

    DENNIS Burke, from Sligo and more lately of Dublin, investigates foreign aircraft landings in Ireland during the Second World War.

    One such landing in Donegal towards the end of that conflict has thrown up some fascinating facts.

    And Dennis is hoping one of our readers either here or abroad might be able to add new information so he can complete his file on it.

    Irish Army archives record that at about hours on the 10th February , an aircraft made an emergency belly landing on Portsalon beach on the shores of Ballymastocker bay, Lough Swilly in County Donegal.

    The officer commanding Fort Dunree on the Innishowen peninsula reported that an aircraft had come down on the beach at Port Salon.
